Good late morning, I have sharp keys installed on my VMware win7 on my mac but when I go to assign certain keys like insert to say the left shift key or the right option key on the mac nothing and I do mean nothing sticks for my settings? What am I doing wrong? I have the latest sharp keys for windows and running win7 on a mac that runs at 2.5 turbo boost to 3.1 when under load. It has 8 gigs of ram and a 5 hundred GB drive if that info is needed.
try restarting the OS after writing to regestry.
I did restart the VM ware win7 but sharp keys does not keep my settings also UI Account is turned off in windows. This escapes me but after doing some research it seems you can not have .net 4.0 installed if yur going to use sharp keys on win7. So with that said who here has got this working and knows how to fix this issue. If not I will delete my vm ware win7 and boot camp my mac. I was just trying to run with a vmware win7 so if crap hits the fan I can back up the image file for my win7 and restore it.
There is supposed to be a registry patch by a fellow known as Kevin Reeves I think Reevesman.net somewhere where you can download a zip file and run it in your VMWare image but I do not have a Mac and so have not done this. I encourage you to research that angle before going Bootcamp, because, in my opinion your logic makes a ton of sense for us.
thanks leo I will go and look it up. Sharp keys is so needed because I do not have a insert key or the desire to cary around a USB number pad just to have access to jaws commands.
so sir starfly, did you find a solution to your problem?
I want to know cause I'm planning to put windows7 in my vm. thanks in advance.
ah, I checked out sharp keys, and its now updated to 3.5 for using .NET Framework 4.0
:) yes, the first list is the key you want to change the second list is the key your going to assign to replace say "caps lock".
thanks. I'm currently using the old sharp keys for my xp vm. and soon will install windows7.
no problem, my friend from mariani pointed this out to me before I was scratching my head as to what the heck was going on.
